Owning Property in Centre Park Historic District: When planning any renovations to the exterior of your property located in the CPHD, the property owner must comply with the Historic District Ordinance.  The city’s Historic Preservation Officer can assist the owners with your planned renovation approval process; contact should be made by contacting the City Services Center by telephone or by using the My Civic 311 app.  For more information visit the Historical Preservation information page at https://www.readingpa.gov/historical-preservation-cd

Street Sweeper information for our northwest section of the city:

1)     Streets that are cleaned weekly have permanent No Parking metal signs posted in each block on both sides of the street to indicate the day and time cars need to be removed.

a)      No street sweeping will occur on the days when the City of Reading is closed for a holiday.   

b)     During winter months the sweeper program may be suspended due to snow accumulation.  These announcements will be posted on both the city website and their Facebook page.

2)     Streets that do not have permanent No Parking signs and do not get cleaned on a weekly basis will be cleaned once or twice a year.  Cardboard No Parking signs will be posted in these neighborhoods in advance of the scheduled sweeper cleaning.

Weekly Trash and Recycling for our northwest section is Tuesday of each week.  If a holiday occurs on a Tuesday, the trash and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday. 

Special Collections for Electronics, Yardwaste, Tires, and Bulky items.  Collections for these items must be made in advance by telephone to the Services Center or by the My Civic 311 app.  Refer to the City’s website for instructions on the safe and proper disposal https://www.readingpa.gov/special-collections

1)     Electronic items Pick-up Day for our northwest section is Thursday.

2)     Yardwaste in Paper Bags for our northwest section is Wednesday.
